On June 17, Dong Weimin, member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, Executive Vice Governor, and Deputy Director of the Provincial Safety Committee, conducted an unannounced inspection of a fireworks and firecrackers production enterprise in Nanchong City using the "four noes and two direct" method, accompanied by officials from the Sichuan Provincial Emergency Management Department and experts from relevant industry fields under the Sichuan Provincial Safety Committee. Dong Weimin emphasized that departments at all levels and relevant authorities must deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on work safety, strictly comply with the work deployments of the State Council Safety Committee and the relevant requirements of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Sichuan Provincial Government, take recent major accidents as lessons, and continuously strengthen safety supervision over the production, storage, transportation, sales, and discharge stages of fireworks and firecrackers, while comprehensively enhancing risk prevention. <\/p>\n
The unannounced inspection team visited Xichong County Huanyu Fireworks Research Co., Ltd., to conduct a on-site inspection of key processes in fireworks and firecrackers production, inquired in detail about the specific measures taken by the enterprise to ensure work safety, randomly inspected the safety conditions of production workshops and the storage of finished and semi-finished product warehouses, and identified and fed back problems on the spot, requiring the enterprise to promptly rectify and eliminate hazards. <\/p>\n
Dong Weimin emphasized that fireworks and firecrackers are a traditionally high-risk industry. All local authorities and relevant departments must clearly recognize the severe situation facing work safety in the fireworks and firecrackers industry, always keep safety production as a top priority, intensify law enforcement and inspection efforts, adopt targeted measures tailored to each enterprise, and resolutely safeguard the bottom line of safety. Enterprises should correctly view the relationship between operational efficiency and safety investment, harbor no complacency regarding work safety, and earnestly increase investment in equipment and talent to enhance professionalization.
